A VERY BEAUTIFUL CONDO AND SCENERY.

What a beautiful place. We stayed in Raymond’s apt. It overlooked the ocean and we had the best view for sunsets. What we liked the most was the pretty much private beach next door. It seemed the only people who used it were the locals. Every night we went down to the beach and hung our hammocks from the huts. Nobody was there after dark. Very safe. The “beach” dog was there every day and night and watched over us. You can walk to Arashi Beach. I enjoyed it very much cause not many people were there either. If you want people, kids, and constant company then Palm Beach is where you go, which we did at times. But if you want to read or snorkel and talk with the “locals” then Malmok is where you want to be.

We rented a car so that we could drive the island and to get to Eagle Beach for lunch or Palm Beach for all the restaurants and water sports. Also, I think we hit quite a few grocery stores. The Arubian people are the “best”. There were so friendly and spoke perfect English along with 4 or 5 other languages. The other 3 condos had wonderful people staying there too. Everyone was respectful to others. We really enjoyed the coffee and tea brunch at Ray’s house. For you women, I must say that Albert is extremely sweet and very easy on the eyes.

I would recommend Ocean 105 if you are looking to spend time with one another and want to feel safe about walking or sitting on the beach alone, but you will need to rent a car to get around. Before I forget, the kitchen is wonderful for cooking and eating in if you want to save money. There is a full size refrigerator, freezer with ice cube trays, a blender for cocktails, toaster, microwave oven and a full size stove and oven with all the pots and pans.

We stayed in the 2-bedroom unit upstairs for 2 weeks in August 2010 – my wife, I, and our two sons. Ocean 105 is an excellent place to stay. We have been to Aruba many times over the last 10 years, and this is the best place so far. Excellent location – quite, yet close to everything. Two fantastic beaches – Boca Catalina (30 steps away) and Arashi (3 minutes by car). No Palm Beach crowds! No noise! Place is clean, well kept.

WONDERFUL OWNERS/MANAGEMENT TEAM; GREAT LOCATION

Ocean 105 was a great find for us. The location could not be better. It is convenient to restaurants, a beautiful beach, the California Lighthouse, and the best golf course on the island, but it has a very different (in a good way) feel than the resort experience.

The accommodations were very clean, comfortable, and more than adequate. We stayed in one of the upstairs 2 BR apartments, and the view from the balcony was spectacular. We also had wine with the owner on his veranda one evening, and he and his family are very welcoming and charming.

I highly recommend Ocean 105 to any traveler who enjoys an off-the-beaten path/local feel experience, but also values the comforts of home. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Aruba next winter.

BEST LOCATION ON ARUBA; WARM INVITING HOST

My wife and our two boys (ages 12 and 10) stayed a week at Ocean 105 in a first floor garden-view apartment. This was our first trip to Aruba, and we had little desire to stay in a crowded resort (and pay the high cost of same). Ocean 105 was a wonderful find for us. It is located adjacent to the best snorkeling beaches on the island (Malmok and Boca Catalina – less than 25 yards out and you’re surrounded by fish and coral). In fact, all of the snorkel trips launched from the big hotels on Palm Beach anchored daily off our beach (yet, we never felt intruded upon). Less than a half mile away is Arashi beach where the snorkeling is not as good, but you will be treated to a wider open beach; the swimming is fantastic at all the beaches. The building is located on a coral ledge about as close to the water as you can get; the sandy beach is just steps away. The sunsets are fantastic.

The owner and his family made us (and the other guests) feel quite welcome by hosting a wine and cheese at sunset on the patio of his home which is connected to Ocean 105. He is a distinguished Aruba native full of knowledge about the island. Gina the housekeeper was wonderful – always available to help us out when needed. The shower in our unit was designed to be without a shower curtain, but when we requested one, it was installed the next day. Bottom line – the place is clean, nicely appointed, and well-serviced. The rental agency – Aruba Happy Rentals – was also a pleasure to deal with.

Perhaps the only downside to Ocean 105 is that the “main” road (a two-lane road with a 40 kph (not mph) speed limit) is directly behind the building. We did not find this to be a problem at all, as there is little traffic on the road at night when you’re sleeping.

If you want night life, the big hotel/shopping area is just two miles away. Small grocery stores abound which you can use to stock the kitchen for meals at home. You should definitely rent a car so you can visit all of the different beaches Aruba has to offer, from Baby Beach on the lower end to Arashi at the top (Hint: We suggest renting from a company whose cars are located at the airport). And don’t forget the beautiful beaches on the rugged north coast (e.g., Boca Prins, which has a great little outdoor bar/restaurant, and the Natural Pool if you have the guts to drive a 4-wheel drive there yourself).

A RELAXING VACATION WITH A BEAUTIFUL BEACH AWAY FROM THE BIG RESORTS

We stayed 2 weeks in “Raymond’s Apartment” and these were one of the best holidays we’ve ever had as a family. This apartment has a stunning ocean view and if you walk 100 meters you’ll reach a small quiet beach where you can relax, enjoy the sun, swim and go snorkling.
We rented this apartment via Aruba Happy Rentals and I can say that Albert and his team provided an excellent service. The apartment was clean and very comfortable. We had two bedrooms with each a bathroom. Our son slept on the sofa which can be converted to a bed. The kitchen was good equipped, we used it mainly for breakfast and lunch. The oven is only doing micro waves, so you can’t bake anything. That’s OK because we were just a few kilometers away from the restaurants and shops at Palm Beach and could enjoy the night life there. The apartment is cleaned twice a week and you get new towels and bed linnen.
We stayed six years ago in one of the high rise hotels and we would never do this again. We would now return to Ocean 105!
If you want to get out of the hassle of hotels/resorts and want to be at ocean/beach you should go to ocean 105.

PERFECT ARUBA LOCATION……OCEAN 105
My husband travelled to Aruba for the first time in May, 2009. We snorkelled daily at a spot, from the beach, that all the catamarans and yachts came to. While there we spotted a sunshine yellow home (that we thought was a private residence) located adjacent to where we went each day. Upon booking our vacation for 2010, and checking out rentals, we saw “the house”. We were so surprised to see that it was not only the private residence of a wonderful family but also 4 separate apartments. We rented “Benji’s” apartment which was perfect for my husband and myself. It was clean, very comfortable and provided a home away from home for our vacation. It is located in a more remote area from “town” but within 10-15 minutes of major shopping, restaurants and more. Located at the northern end of the island, near the lighthouse, it is perfect for more private swimming and snorkelling. Albert, the property manager, was so informative and accommodating with our questions. It felt like our private hide-a-way in Aruba!

PERFECT HONEYMOON at OCEAN 105

We had a great stay in Rachel’s Apartment and had great service from Albert, Gemma, and Gina.

Arashi beach was right around the corner and was BEAUTIFUL as well is snorkelicious. Beautiful sunsets from our porch (facing right out over the ocean) and great proximity to everywhere we wanted to go.

We rented a car (highly recommended!) and it was just a few minutes drive to high-rise and low-rise hotels, restaurants, airport and shopping area. (Literally 5-15 minutes).

We were given a cell phone to use during our stay and we made special arrangements with Albert to have champagne and chocolate waiting for us in the room when we arrived.

We did a lot in one week in Aruba. We rode horses in a cactus forest and on the beach with rancho notorious (highly recommended). We went to the butterfly farm and one of the best restaurant that we went was “The Flying Fishbone” (wonderful).

We highly recommend Ocean 105 and Aruba overall
